The Chairman of political Council of party “Oppositional platform For life”, people’s Deputy of Ukraine of IX convocation Viktor Medvedchuk said that investment in Ukraine will come only when they stop fighting in the Donbass, there will be peace and will create a certain climate for investors
About the MP said in the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
According to the politician, for investors it is also important that their products have been implemented, only then can we speak of successful investment.
“But the implementation may take place when the country has money, people have money. And I understand that perfectly. And most importantly not the last, and most importantly, and the first in-country investment will come when the country will have peace and will be terminated hostilities in the Donbass. And that’s the main thing, not the IMF and cooperation. Not the IMF and a mockery of the country and the people, namely peace and cessation of hostilities is the main signal that could give rise to creation of investment climate”, – he said.
Viktor Medvedchuk added that the volume of foreign investment declined.
“The inflow of direct investments (we’re talking about external, foreign investments) had an annual volume of $5.5‒5.7 billion In 2018, it was 2.9 billion, and this year, at the end, even if we assume the growth that has taken place since the beginning of the year it will be somewhere 2,35‒2,45”, ‒ said the MP.
