Damri Typhoon that struck the Central part of Vietnam, has claimed for the last three days the lives of 44 people. According to ABC, another 19 unaccounted for.
Demri, became the 12th Typhoon in Vietnam and the most severe damage by natural disaster over the last 20 years. According to the coordinating Committee, the result of heavy rains and the resulting floods were flooded and damaged more than 116 thousand homes.
More than 30 thousand people were forced to leave their homes to escape the floods. The disaster has deprived many areas of power supply and communication with the outside world, there remain impounded more than 40 thousand hectares of agricultural land.
Also under water was a 30-kilometer stretch of railway connecting the North and South of the country, and many sections transvenously the motorway.
The government quickly deployed in the affected provinces large-scale restoration work.
