Ukraine must repay foreign debt of about $ 3 billion this year

S&P noted that Ukraine’s implementation of the program with the International monetary Fund (IMF) remains the key to external funding, without which the ability of governments to service foreign currency debt obligations in 2019 and 2020 are uncertain.
So, the current agreement with the IMF valid until October, after which the new President and government will have to negotiate a new agreement with the Fund, which, in the opinion of the Agency, may include a more rigorous reform programme.
S&P has said that the current IMF program foresees the introduction of a Higher anti-corruption court and the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of the law on the division of supervision on the financial market, and also required the restoration of responsibility for illegal enrichment after the abolition of the Constitutional court.
“If the decision is not taken within the next month following viewing and payment of the IMF can be delayed,” predicts the Agency, noting that in the absence of funding the IMF and other official creditors there is a risk of deterioration of external financing conditions of Ukraine.
