U.S. congressmen refuse to meet with Russian Ambassador

The Ambassador denied all his requests to Congress.

Russia’s Ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov said that regularly gets rejected requests for a meeting with congressmen, according to “RIA Novosti”.

“I can tell you that all my requests to Congress and denied to me. I’m very happy for Mr. (U.S. Ambassador to Russia John) Huntsman, what our parliamentarians warmly met him. In August of 2017 after signing of the law on sanctions against Russia US President Donald trump lashed out at the Congress, blaming them for the deterioration of relations with Russia. He then said that relations between Washington and Moscow are “in a dangerously low point.”

The predecessor of the Antonov Sergey Kislyak, who was Ambassador to the United States from 2008 to 2017, after returning to Moscow has described the atmosphere in which he had to work as “poisoned”.

He explained that the administration of U.S. President trump is “difficult” due to the political conflict in the United States.
