The timely launch of a new European competitive electricity market from 1 July 2019 is part of the international obligations of Ukraine
About this on air of Our channel said the expert of the Ukrainian Institute for the future Andrian Protip, write “Ukrainian news”.
“This (the new market of electric power — ed.) is an international obligation of Ukraine, the implementation of European energy legislation. We have from 1 July must earn the new market model. That is, first and foremost is our commitment. Second, what we can give in conditions of integration when we start with this market is to a certain extent, will increase competition, it will ensure that domestic producers, and we have not so many manufacturers, and they have a large share, not to inflate the price.”
According to experts, today the Ukrainian power system is synchronized with Russia, however, this carries significant risks. Accordingly, the implementation of the European market will gradually synchronize with the energy market of the EU countries. “The Ukrainian electricity system is synchronised with the systems of Russia, Belarus and Moldova. This means that Russia, as the largest player, ensures the reliability of the system. We got in 2014 was the situation when Russia refused to provide emergency technical assistance, and had to disable consumers have been rolling blackouts”, — he stressed.
We will remind, recently the international community has expressed concern about the deceleration of the launch of a new electricity market and calls promptly hold a meeting of the coordination center on introduction of new market elektroenergii.
This was discussed in the joint letter of the Head of the EU delegation to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli, Director of the European Energy Community Yanes kopacz, Head of the European investment Bank (EIB) in Ukraine Jean-Erik de Zagon, managing Director of EBRD in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus Matteo Patrone, Director of USAID Mission in Ukraine Susan Fritz.
Yesterday readiness for timely launch of the market expressed the state company Energoatom and Ukrenergo.
