Because of the bottle of perfume a woman lost her leg
Briton Jill Haddington begged surgeons to amputate her leg because the pain was unbearable. The doctors hesitated for a long time, but came to the decision that this is the only way, according to the Rambler.
42-year-old Jill Haddington from Lancashire (England) a few years ago hurt his foot with shards of glass perfume bottle.
Then the woman did not know that a simple wound will lead to such serious consequences.
In a short time on the injured foot sores and inflammation, the limb is swollen two times. Then Jill noticed that the toes were starting to hang down. The pain didn’t let the woman live in peace, and then she turned for help to the hospital.
Doctors diagnosed Jill complex regional pain syndrome in which people experience a very unpleasant sensation in any part of the body. The woman was getting worse every day, but x-rays showed no injury or fracture.
A little later the doctors suggested that Jill Haddington might be fibromyalgia. In this disease the brain and nervous system contains high levels of certain chemicals. This causes pain throughout the body.
Jill begged surgeons to amputate her leg as the pain was unbearable. The doctors hesitated for a long time, but later decided that this is the only way.
“My leg was already dead to me, it was the cause of severe pain and distress. I just wanted to continue to live a normal life,” said the woman.
Amputation of the leg was completed successfully. The Briton spent a few months in a wheelchair, and now begins to walk with a prosthesis.
Jill went back to swimming lessons that have carried her earlier, and now plans to take part in a charity competition.
