The forecasts for growth of the Ukrainian economy has deteriorated sharply
The European Bank for reconstruction and development (EBRD) has left its forecast for real GDP growth of Ukraine in 2019 at 2.5%.
If to compare with November of last year, the forecast for 2019 was worse than the 0.5 PP
It is noted that one of the key factors in the slowdown of the economy is domestic political uncertainty because of elections. It will lead to a temporary slowdown to 2.5% in 2019 from 3.3% in 2018.
However, reforms and easing of monetary policy have positive impact on growth, and in 2020 it is expected to restore to 3.0%.
In addition, the EBRD downgraded the growth forecast for the countries of the region in which it operates (Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union, North Africa) to 2019 from 2.6% to 2.3%. In 2020 is expected to increase by 2.6%.
Earlier it was reported that the Global economy is on the brink of another huge collapse. Imagine the following hypothetical situation. A sick addict so sick of family, neighbors and friends, that they were his pack and handing it to the psychiatrist. The doctor, realizing the gravity of the disease running assigns to the patient as treatment… increasing the dose of the most familiar drugs on which he sits for so long. And releases home. Home all excited. Withdrawal syndrome, or in other words, the breakdown stops. Relatives, neighbours and friends sincerely think that increasing the dose can cure a seriously ill drug addict.
You say that it is a delirium of a sick imagination, and in reality this can not be. Meanwhile, this absurd situation is observed… in the global economy. Seriously ill addict is the world economy. The role of relatives, neighbors and friends performed by consumers, investors and the corporate sector, and the role of the wise doctors increase the dose as a medicine, are those in power, through the fed and Central Banks.
