Earlier it was reported that the situation has escalated in Hong Kong. There the protesters against the adoption of the law on extradition stormed the provincial Parliament.
About a hundred demonstrators broke into the building at about 21:00 local time (16:00 Kyiv) and tried to open the emergency exits. Police who were at the side exits, retreated to avoid further escalation of the situation.
Recall that the protests began in Hong Kong after introduction of the law on simplified procedure of extradition of suspects to other countries, including in mainland China. It threatens the harassment of dissidents in Hong Kong, according to opponents of the law. The bill was eventually withdrawn, but the opposition believes that this is not enough and demands to withdraw it completely. Also protesters demanding the resignation of the head of administration of Hong Kong Carrie Lam, and the investigation of cases of violence by police against the demonstrators.
