(Magog) Best known for his books related to birding, Magogois Andre Dion died Sunday at the age of 94. “He had a fantastic life,” said his wife, France Dion.
The Magogois had cancer since last fall. He died at the Center for Health and Social Services Memphremagog, where he was admitted shortly before his death.
France Dion notes that in the weeks before his death, her husband was still active despite illness. “It took two long walks an hour every day and on July 3, he even went kayaking. It remained independent until the end, “she says.
Ms. Dion says that many people have already shown their affection for her husband. “It does not loose, testimonies,” she says, while admitting to be very affected by his death.
In total, the Magogois wrote 25 books about birds. “He was in the pioneers in Quebec as a popularizer in ornithology. It was not easy for people to attract birds to their yard before her first books. But he has made it simple and helped a lot of people in this area. ”
And with his partner Andre Dion launched a campaign to encourage the return of Eastern Bluebird America Quebec. No fewer than 10 000 nesting boxes were installed as part of this campaign unusual.
