The IMF will provide Moldova with over $ 20 million to the country’s economic development and poverty reduction. This was stated by Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Filip, reports UKRINFORM.

“The results of the assessment mission to Moldova will be provided with additional financial assistance from the IMF in the amount of 22 million dollars. We are determined to maintain the positive dynamics of the reforms and to accelerate economic growth and reduce poverty,” said Philip.

Among the priorities of the Moldovan authorities indicated that the government will work to stabilize the situation in the banking sector and the return to the country stolen from the banking system billion.

Earlier it was reported that, the IMF approved a Program of financial assistance for Moldova in 2016 – it will last for three years. It is reported that during this time, Moldova should receive from Fund 178 million, of which $ 59 million has already been received.

We will remind, this year Moldova will receive financial assistance from the European Union in the amount of 100 million euros.
