Thus, the head of Treasury Bank Credit Dnepr Oleg Kurinnoy reported on the current situation on the currency market in Ukraine, UBR reports.
“After the start of the market quotation went down to 26,19-26,24 UAH/$, then corrected to of 26.21-26,25 UAH./ Now entrenched in the framework of 26.21-26,24 UAH/$”, — he explained.
At the same time, as of 10 may, the value of the currency sold to the population remained at the level of the last days — from 26,45 to 26.55 UAH/$. At that time, as the purchase of dollar from the citizens costs 25,90-26,40 UAH/$.
Earlier, the NBU revealed the particulars of its future policy on the financial market. This is stated in the NBU report on the introduction of measures of protection, which was published on the official portal of the state regulator.
The document says that current protection measures in the foreign exchange market are relevant for maintaining macroeconomic and financial stability. The NBU also noted that the regulator in the future will continue the gradual liberalization of the currency market launched in 2016 after the stabilization of the financial system and the return of Ukraine’s economy to growth, therefore, may soon be abolished all restrictions on the foreign exchange market.
It should be noted that the current restrictions were introduced until 2016 in order to restore the economic development of Ukraine. The consequence of these restrictions is the growth of GDP over the next two years.
At the same time, as stated in the official report, inflation has declined from 43.3 percent at the end of 2015 to 9.8 percent at the end of 2018. During this time more than 20 billion US dollars has increased the volume of international reserves.
