The completion of the reform of the gas market and electricity is a key priority reforms in Ukraine for the years 2019-2023

Obozrevatel reports, this is stated in the “Principles of Toronto”, which was presented during the Third International conference on reforms in Ukraine, which takes place in Toronto.

“Complete reform of gas and electricity market: to cancel state subsidies in the energy sector; to reform the coal market and reduce coal consumption; to introduce competition in the heating sector; development of renewable energy; improve the efficient use of energy resources; protection of vulnerable consumers; to improve effective management and energy independence. To implement effective energy efficiency programmes in the sectors of production, transport and consumption of energy, particularly in the residential sector”, — stated in the document “Principles of Toronto”.

“Principles of Toronto” — a document prepared by the experts of civil society, in which the estimation of prospects of reforms in Ukraine for the years 2019-2023.

We will remind, on July 2-4, in Toronto, the annual international conference on reforms in Ukraine, devoted to expert discussion of the progress of reforms in Ukraine. Conferences on reforms was launched by the government in 2017. The conference acts as a platform that unites Ukrainian and international government officials, businessmen, representatives of the EU, NATO, G7 and civil society to sum up annual results of the reform process in Ukraine and discuss the next steps and priority prospects.
