(Quebec) The Ethics Commissioner and ethics does not recommend any sanction against the MP Sam Hamad. But Jacques Saint-Laurent says he committed a “breach” the Code of Ethics by its interventions in favor of Premier Tech.
“The comments of Mr. Hamad during the survey expressed that he was convinced that by doing so enthusiastically, to support a business, he could not commit a breach of the Code.”
But “it was more than imprudent in contravention to basic ethical principles in the management of public funds,” wrote the Ethics Commissioner and ethics in the report he sent to the National Assembly Thursday morning.
“By his actions, he has not contributed to maintaining the trust of the population towards members of the National Assembly,” says Saint-Laurent.
