Peacekeepers in the Donbas: Canada will make every effort

Canada maintains a dialogue at the international level for providing peacekeeping assistance.

Canada will make every effort to peacekeepers was introduced to the Donbass. This was stated by the head of the canadian Ministry of foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland, reports Radio Liberty.

“Worldwide, Canada maintains a dialogue with several countries about the viability and usefulness of peacekeeping and safe activities in Ukraine,” said Freeland.

According to her, last week she “personally has studied the possibilities and prospects of such a mission” with U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson, the special envoy of the USA in Ukraine with Kurt Volker and the UN Secretary-General antónio Guterres.

Freeland also said that the canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau raised this issue in communicating with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

“Our government is at the centre of international efforts to support Ukraine, and we are working to ensure that peacekeeping efforts have guaranteed the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine”, – said the Minister of foreign Affairs of Canada.

Earlier in mass media there was information that the United States will soon offer Russia plan to deploy 20 thousand peacekeepers to the Donbass.
