Obolonskiy district court of Kyiv fined the parents of two students at 850 hryvnia for bullying classmate
After the first sentence for bullying (persecution) that was submitted Brovarsky court February 13, Obolonskiy district court ordered the parents of two students to pay a fine of 850 hryvnia for bullying a classmate at school city of Kiev, reports Ukrainian news.
As it became known, in the Kiev management of national police asked the parents of a fourth grade student of one of Kiev schools, a statement that two classmates bullied over their son, insult, fight and ruining personal items. Because of this, the child refuses to go to school.
The prevention of juvenile inspectors visited the school, where the children learn, and had a conversation with the participants of the conflict and their classmates. During the investigation it was established that the abuse continued for at least four months.
Obolon district court made the parents of two fourth graders to liability under part 3 of article 173-4 (bullying (harassment) participant in the educational process) of the Code of administrative offences, and appointed them a penalty of 850 hryvnias.
We have previously reported, the punishment for bullying has just started in Ukraine. The relevant law entered into force on 19 January.
The penalty for such a violation is established at the level of 850-1700 UAH or public works 20 to 40 hours. If persecution makes a group of persons or the same violation committed repeatedly within a year is subject to a fine 1700-3400 UAH or public works for a period of 40-60 hours. If the perpetrators are Teens aged 14 to 16 years, provided the same sanctions, but they will impose on the parents or guardians.
Heads of educational institutions if they don’t inform the police about the facts of bullying, will be fined in the amount of 850-1700 UAH, or correctional labor for up to one month with deduction of 20% of earnings.
Administrative protocols on bullying still rare, this says the police. First, this law only began to act. And, secondly, parents still do not fully understand what is considered bullying and what is not.
Recall that bullying in schools is widespread not only among peers.
As Politeka reported that Ukraine has started action, the purpose of which is the complete cessation of bullying among adolescents.
