Opposition politician Alexei Navalny has announced a protest rally on 1 July in several cities of the Russian Federation against the pension reform.
As was announced by the opposition, protests against pension reform will be held in the cities where the matches of football world Cup.
Alexei Navalny said protests will be held July 1 in 20 Russian cities: Barnaul, Biysk, Izhevsk, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Lipetsk, Murmansk, Novokuznetsk, Novosibirsk, Orenburg, Pskov, Stavropol, Tver, Khabarovsk, Cheboksary and Yaroslavl.
“This is a national and a nationwide protest. We encourage everyone to participate in the protests against raising the retirement age regardless of political views and preferences,” said Navalny.
On his page in Instagram the opposition leader wrote that in 20 cities the headquarters of the Fund of struggle against corruption has filed applications for holding protests against raising the retirement age on 1 July.
In addition, representatives of the left forces has applied for the shares on 4 July in Moscow on revolution square. And on 3 July a similar action only on Suvorov square in the capital city wants to hold the “Apple”.
We will remind that recently the government has announced that it begins the development of the pension reform, which resulted in Russia will raise the age of retirement to 65 years for men and 63 years for women.
As planned, the pension reform will start from 1 January 2019, the retirement age will rise gradually.
