The Ontario government will install around 500 charging stations for electric vehicles in the province, to reduce the “fear of failure” among consumers interested in this type of cars.
The entire terminal network then would link such Windsor to Ottawa or Toronto to North Bay, but also to run without trouble in metropolitan areas.
The terminals will be installed at more than 250 locations, including roads, but also near the workplace and in public places. They should all be operational by March 2017. The establishment of these terminals will cost $ 20 million, in the Green Investment Fund, with a budget of $ 325 million, as part of the fight against the changes climate conducted by the province.
Ontario offers an incentive of up to $ 14,000 for buyers of electric vehicles.
