On 74-m to year of life has died the former Minister of defence of Ukraine Valery Shmarov.
October 14 after a long illness at the age of 73 years has died the former Minister of defense of Ukraine, Professor Valeriy Shmarov. This was announced by Deputy Director of the Aerospace Institute of National aviation University Alexander Sidorenko, informs Rus.Media.
“Last year, Valery Nikolayevich was fired as Director of the Aerospace Institute. He immediately became seriously ill, although the disease was earlier. He emotionally accepted the release, tried to defend their rights in court. The suit is constantly delayed. Today we learned that on October 14 Shmarov died,” – said Sidorenko.
Have Shmarova is survived by his wife and son. Farewell to Sharovym will be held this Wednesday, October 16, from 10.00 to 13.00 at the National defense University (Vozduhoflotsky Prospekt, 28). Service and funeral will take place at the Baykove cemetery after 14 hours.
Valery Shmarov in the early 1990-ies participated in the development of the first National space program of Ukraine, was the first Deputy Director General of the National space Agency.
In 1993-1995, he held the position of Vice-Prime Minister on questions military-industrial complex, in 1994-1996 was defense Minister, then a member of Parliament. In 2002-2005, he was the General Director of “UkrSpetsExport”, after that he headed the Aerospace Institute of National aviation University. Shmarov has written more than 40 scientific papers, defended doctoral thesis.
