A 29 year old motorcyclist died in the region on Thursday night, following a collision with a van occurred at 17 h 15 in Becancour.
The collision happened on Highway 30, in the area that has no median. The Sûreté du Québec says witnesses reported to the police that the motorcyclist made several overtaking maneuvers by the left, while the central line was full.
“When the driver of the van has initiated a maneuver to turn on the street Jasmins left, the motorcyclist was unable to avoid the collision,” says Sergeant Claude Denis, spokesman for the Surete du Quebec. “The man was then thrown from his motorcycle. He died of his injuries. ”
Paramedics took over the man before taking him to hospital, where he died in the evening.
Specialist investigators in scenes of accidents of the Surete du Quebec were on hand Thursday evening to shed light on these events. Although traffic has been hampered, Highway 30 was not closed.
