Most energy market players are ready to transition to the new model from 1 July 2019, thereby fulfilling the requirements of international partners
About this on air of television channel “Straight”, said blogger Alexei Minakov, reported Ukrainian news.
According to experts, despite the obvious benefits of a new liberal and European market models are the representatives of certain political forces, particularly the newly elected President, who say that the market launch should be postponed.
“Actually, “Ukrenergo” is already testing the transition to the new market model, and in fact the national Commission, national Commission, which regulates prices and tariffs, together with the Ministry of energy is ready, too. Energy companies are also ready. That is, the majority of market participants willing to move to a new model with 1 July. If we are talking purely about the economy, there are no obstacles, because that is our commitment, that is, we should finally be done, because for 26 years the industry was in a deplorable state,” — said the blogger.
“In 2014, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the draft law on the electricity market. Black and white there is also written that from 1 July 2019 must earn this new electricity market. Why is it important? Because it is a commitment undertaken by Ukraine when they signed the Association agreement with the European Union, which entered into force in 2017. Second, if we are fulfilling that commitment this year, we will provide a tranche of 500 million euros from the European Union. That is, there is material encouragement”, — he stressed.
We will remind, the national Commission, carrying out state regulation in spheres of power and utilities (NKREKU) at the meeting on Saturday, 11 may, adopted a resolution on granting the subsidiary a “market Operator” of state enterprise “Energorynok” the ability to temporarily, to transformation into a joint stock company (JSC), to carry out functions to support new segments of the wholesale electricity market. This will allow time to run the new electricity market from 1 July 2019.
