“The next step in the question of peace in Ukraine should be the final settlement of the situation in Donbass”
The head of political Council of party “Oppositional platform For life” Viktor Medvedchuk said in the program “Pulse” on the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
According to him, without a direct dialogue between the two presidents – President Vladimir Zelensky and President of Russia Vladimir Putin – the exchange of detainees between Russia and Ukraine would not take place.
“The question of dialogue means: if agreed in this matter, why they can’t agree on the main issue, is the cessation of hostilities and peace? They should do it. And now, if this dialogue has been so successful in this, he should continue now, in peace and a final settlement of the situation in Donbas, which should be the return of Donbas to Ukraine and Ukraine at Donbass” – said the MP.
Viktor Medvedchuk also noted that according to sociological studies, 70-75% of Ukrainians believe that for the sake of peace Zelensky should engage in direct dialogue with Russian President Putin.
How the politician said that to achieve peace in Donbass it is necessary to perform the Minsk agreement, which is universally recognized as uncontested.
