Justin Bergeron makes history in Carnicas

(Magog) This is an honor that stick to the skin of Justin Bergeron all his life. The 15 year old Magog was the weekend the first hockey player in the short history of Carnicas high school Hive, a youthful team RSEQ D1 part, to be drafted by a panel of the QMJHL.

Defending champions of the QMJHL, the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, made Bergeron in 4th round their fifth choice, the 61st of the draft.

This is a great reward for the rear guard and captain of Carnicas which was one of the last players cut in training camp Cantonniers Magog. Fate has meant that Bergeron was still recalled for 10 games in the regular season. Bergeron added 10 more playoff games, allowing himself even to raise five points, including two goals.

“We had a good team with Carnicas and probably that it allowed me to be noticed. However, it is obvious that to play in the playoffs before many recruiters with Cantonniers certainly helped me to increase my value. My strength remains my offensive game and Felix Potvin did not hesitate to send me on the ice, especially on the power play, “says Bergeron.

It knows that the Huskies still count on many veterans next season. “I will introduce myself to camp with the idea to confuse the issue. This summer I will especially strengthen me physically. For the rest, I will give my maximum and the final decision will not be mine, “added Bergeron who was listed in the fourth round by recruiting Support Centre (RSC).

His selection in the fourth round can not be considered a surprise.
