(Trois-Rivieres) A person 21 years of Trois-Rivieres will face justice after having uttered on Facebook death threats to the Surete du Quebec.
The individual was arrested by the Public Security Trois-Rivieres this weekend. According to the testimony he had contacted the Surete du Quebec directly on their Facebook page to utter several insults and even death threats.
It seems the young man, who has a modified vehicle, would not have liked to have had to undergo a check on the vehicle by officers of the provincial police force.
He was questioned and then released on a promise to appear. He will return to court June 20 to be formally charged with death threats.
“People think that because they are on social networks, or behind their computer is inconsequential. But you never say it enough: write something on social networks, it has the same legal value as to say it in person or write it in a letter, “recalls Michel Letarte agent Public Safety Trois-Rivieres.
