The English court Thursday, September 13, cancelled the order dated June 18, 2018 on the seizure of assets of Russian monopolist company Gazprom on the territory of England and Wales.
About the decision told the management of the company, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
A prerequisite for the lifting of the order was adopted by the Gazprom obligation not to dispose of the shares of Nord Stream AG until the end of the hearings in the English court on the recognition and enforcement of a decision of the Stockholm arbitration in the case of the transit of February 28, 2018. The hearing previously scheduled for February 2019.
The seizure of assets in the British jurisdiction are most sensitive for Gazprom, as it limits his access to the global financial market, putting the transaction to raise funds through Eurobonds or club loans at risk of freezing on the claims of Naftogaz of Ukraine. In June, Gazprom had to cancel the transaction on placing of Eurobonds in pounds. His last transaction on the market of bilateral loans, the monopoly prefers not to make public.
The order of arrest of assets of Gazprom on the territory of England and Wales was passed by the High court of England and Wales on 18 June 2018 at the request of Naftogaz in connection with the compulsory execution of the decision of the Stockholm arbitration on the dispute about gas transit from February 28, 2018.
