In Crimea detained 15 of the Crimean Tatars: what do we know?

On Wednesday, Russian security forces detained, according to 15 of the Crimean Tatars.

In the morning in Bakhchisarai there was series of searches, the human rights movement “the Crimean solidarity”.

Six detainees suspected of having links with the organization “Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami”, which is recognized in Russia as terrorist and banned.

Human rights activists called their names: Suleiman Asanov, the Minister Saliev, Timur Ibragimov, the Server Zakaryaev, Mehmet Blelow and Ernest Ametov.

In addition, eyewitnesses reported that during the morning searches were also detained nine people who came on the scene and observed the actions of the security forces.

It is now known that Asan Ismailov, Amet Suleymanov, Eldar Snazarov, Ernest Ibragimov Refat Asanov, Eskender Lumanov, Ilnur Asanov, Rud Neji and Ruslan Bilyalov located in the building of the Bakhchisaray Department.

He is charged with an administrative offence under article “Organization of mass simultaneous stay and (or) movement of citizens in public places, which caused violation of public order”.

It threatens with punishment till 15 days of administrative arrest.

Lawyer Emil Kubarev published in Facebook video from the searches and wrote that there are a lot of people in masks, flying drones, there are representatives of the internal troops.

The FSB said about terrorists

The FSB said that stopped the activities of Bakhchisarai “cell of the terrorist organization “Hizb-ut-Tahrir”.

What is known about some of the detainees?

Some of the terror suspects have already encountered the Russian FSB.

And at the end of January, Mr. Salieva was arrested for 12 days for what he, according to the decision of the Crimean court, has posted on his page in “Vkontakte” a series of audio recordings and posts extremist nature.

Another detainee, Suleiman Asanov, Bakhchisaray businessman, owner of the local café “Karavan-Saray Salachik”.

In may 2016, the FSB held in the premises of the cafe searched. Then detained several people, which later became known as “the Bakhchsarai four Hizb ut-Tahrir”.

The names of other detainees previously in the public plane did not appear. According to the Crimean coordinator of the contact group on human rights Abdurashitov Gapparova, they are “normal” inhabitants of Bakhchisarai.

“They are all ordinary people. According to their friends and neighbors, no extremist or terrorist activities behind them were not observed,” said Dzhepparov.

He added that the suspects have already secured attorneys.

To protect them, human rights activist Emil Curbelo, the lawyer of the international human rights group “Agora” Alexey Ladin and Cemil Times, Sergei Legosti, Mammet Mambetov and islyam Valyaev.

“Stop the persecution of the Tatars”

Ukraine has demanded from Russia to stop the persecution of Crimean Tatars.

The Chairman of the Majlis Refat Chubarov said that these prosecutions were the result of the “consistent and decisive position” of the Crimean Tatar community on the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
