A driver heavily intoxicated by alcohol made a fool of himself on Sunday night in downtown Magog.
At 9:45 pm, a man was sunk in a telephone pole with his 2011 BMW vehicle, near the corner of St-Patrice Est and Sherbrooke.
“Still, he continued to press the accelerator. A witness from the scene contacted the police department, “says Mickael Laroche, media relations officer at the Memphremagog Police Board.
“When the officers arrived a few seconds later, they found that the 69-year-old was intoxicated. After his arrest, he was taken to the police station where he failed the alcohol tests. ”
The suspect’s driver’s license was therefore suspended immediately for a period of 90 days. “On the other hand, since he blew more than double the allowable limit, his vehicle was also seized for a period of 30 days,” Laroche added.
“The man was released with a promise to appear.”
