(Granby) A fire broke out in a room of an apartment of Gatien Street in Granby, late Friday evening, around 10:10 p.m.. The worst has been avoided.
On arrival firefighters, flames were coming through a window of the 32-apartment building.
The blaze was brought under control relatively quickly by fire crews, says the chief Judge Bruce operations. Fire tackled part of the attic, but the damage was limited to that section of the building. Neighboring apartments and below were damaged by water, he added.
“No injuries. The evacuation was very fast with the help of police. On the floor of the fire, there was so much smoke evacuation was made by firefighters. ”
Some tenants were supported by the Red Cross because of damage to their apartment.
