Alexander gergalov, soloist of the Opera troupe of the Mariinsky theatre, has died after a long illness. This is evidenced by message cultural institutions, reports RIA Novosti.
According to published information, the honored artist of Russia, people’s artist of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, baritone Alexander Gergalov died at the age of 62 years. Thursday, July 5, he would have turned 63 years old.
At the same time, the Mariinsky theatre has expressed deep condolences to the family and friends of the artist.
Note that Gergalov is a laureate of international and all-Union competitions, and educated at the Leningrad Conservatory named after Rimsky-Korsakov.
