The Surete du Quebec (SQ) is continuing its investigation into the death of an elderly man in his sixties in an accident around 9am Monday morning on Route 116, near the road Cournoyer in Acton Vale, Monteregie.
Alone in his van, the driver swerved his vehicle crossing the oncoming lane to finally end in the ditch.
The force of the impact, the man was ejected from his vehicle. A spokesperson for the SQ, Christian Leclerc, said he will likely not wearing his seat belt.
The man was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
SQ examines various theories to attempt to explain the causes of the accident, including the requirement that the driver has felt unwell while driving.
Route 116 had to be closed to traffic, time for the experts to conduct their investigation in SQ.
