Cuba criticized U.S. sanctions

The foreign Ministry called Washington’s measures a serious setback in bilateral relations.

The representative of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Cuba, Josefina Vidal said that new sanctions against the Republic declared by the US administration, will harm both the economy of the island and American citizens, reports RIA Novosti.

“These measures will harm the Cuban economy and its state and non-state sectors. They will also hit the American citizens whose right to travel to Cuba, the only country of the world which they can visit freely, will be more limited,” the statement reads Vidal released by the Cuban foreign Ministry.

In her view, made Washington’s measures mean a serious setback in bilateral relations.

“This is a blow to us entrepreneurs who will lose interesting opportunities for doing business in Cuba,” said Vidal.

Recall, the U.S. Treasury announced that on November 9, the Washington tightens sanctions against Cuba. The main changes relate to financial transactions, trade related to the educational goals of trips and number of other areas.
