(Trois-Rivieres) An accident was injured Thursday morning on Highway 55 in Trois-Rivieres. A car rammed from behind a van was immobilized on the service road to go get his cargo that had fallen from the back box.
According to Annie Thibodeau, spokesperson of the Surete du Quebec, the van was carrying what amounts to sheets of Styrofoam. Now, obviously, the insecure load and would then flew to fall on the floor.
The driver of the van stopped his vehicle in the left lane of the service road and then exit the vehicle and go get loaded. That’s when a car coming from behind could not avoid the collision and rammed the truck.
The driver, a lady of 62 years of Trois-Rivieres, suffered back injuries and was taken to hospital, but his life is not in danger.
The driver of the van meanwhile, a 58 year old man from Trois-Rivieres, was not injured but is likely to receive a ticket for loose loading.
According to the findings of the investigation which is still ongoing, it could also face charges of criminal negligence.
