(SHERBROOKE) The company Brome Lake Ducks announces the completion of an investment project valued at $ 21,262,607 in Asbestos. A hundred jobs could be created.
These amounts will include the company to expand its Viandes Laroche processing center recently acquired in Asbestos. It also plans to acquire specialized equipment to significantly increase production.
To power the processing center, the company also will expand some of its facilities in Lac-Brome.
The Quebec government provides loans totaling more than $ 13 million to the company Brome Lake Ducks to support the project, said for his part, MP Karine Vallières.
The government funding includes a loan of $ 5,557,000 from Investissement Québec, and a loan of $ 7,648,607 granted through the Economic Diversification Fund of the MRC des Sources.
Founded in 1912, the company Brome Lake Ducks now has 220 employees and specializes in the breeding, processing and marketing of duck products, especially the Peking duck.
It acquired the Viandes Laroche facilities last year after the closure of the plant of Asbestos.
