(SHERBROOKE) The two individuals who were behind the arson occurred in Saint-François-Xavier-de-Brompton in early March contest the charges concerning this event.
Karl Watson and Julie Simoneau-Audy have set Monday their preliminary hearing at the courthouse of Sherbrooke.
Their counsel, Ms. Patricia Vendrame-Ethier legal aid, will contest the charges related to arson and robbery.
Karl Watson waived his investigation of release in the case, while Julie Simoneau-Audy is closed therapy to try to overcome his addictions.
Karl Watson, 23, and Julie Simoneau-Audy, 30, are charged with break and enter and theft, arson, theft of vehicle, police leaks, dangerous driving, assault against a police officer and possession of burglary tools.
The two suspects were arrested after a police chase on the sidelines of the fire that destroyed a single-family house in Saint-François-Xavier-de-Brompton, while its occupants were on vacation in Florida.
The residence is a total loss.
The two individuals do not dispute the charges concerning the factual framework of the event when they were arrested by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) in Saint-Georges-de-Windsor after a police chase.
A witness to be called to the stand as part of the preliminary hearing to be held on 25 August.

Upon his arrest in March, Watson showed on his Facebook page several sexy photos and videos, and degrading images to the SQ officers. You could see the representation of a poster asking that supports the cause of the Hells Angels Sherbrooke or the famous Support 81 Sherbrooke (where 8 H 1 A). Finally, there it described as a “pornographic film actor”.
That of Julie Simoneau-Audy was no more cheerful, full of offensive phrases and often violent big words.
