Local firefighters were alerted around 19 am by the occupants of the residence, a couple and two children aged ten years.

The fire quickly realized they were dealing with a flashover.

“When we arrived, the wall was already ashore. There were bricks in the path. The mailbox was completely melted, “says the director of the fire department of Notre-Dame-de-Stanbridge, Rejean Lemaire.

“It was an extremely intense fire.”

A support call was made to Bedford services, Saint-Alexandre, and Henryville / San Sebastian. Thirty firefighters fought the blaze.

Neither the fire nor the residents are not able to accurately determine the cause of the fire. The hypothesis of an electrical problem however was privileged Sunday night. No criminal element was found.

This means that a family is now found in the street. The victims have also requested help the Red Cross.

“They have no clothes or papers. Everything was inside, “says Rejean Lemaire.
