The winner of the multiday Bicycle race “Tour de France” in 1997 the former German cyclist Jan Ullrich was in a psychiatric hospital after he was detained by police on suspicion of assaulting a prostitute in Germany, reports the AFP.

According to the Agency, 44-year-old former cyclist on Friday, August 10, was released on bail pending investigation of the likely assassination attempt. After the release of the Ulrich have been a panic attack.

According to German media, the former athlete decided to use the paid services of a sexual nature and, according to police, attacked 31-year-old woman after a quarrel in one of the rooms at the hotel in Frankfurt. Militiamen also say that, most likely, the German had been under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Earlier in August Ulrich was arrested in Mallorca for the invasion of the German actor Til Schweiger and threats in his address.
