Commissioner for human rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova sent the Ukrainian Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova three pictures of a wrongfully convicted Ukrainian Director Oleg Sentsov from the camera. About it the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for human rights announced on his page in social network Facebook.
“Just from the Ombudsman of the Russian Federation received a photo of Oleg Sentsov. According to the information that she gave, Oleg is active, goes to watch TV, reads book, writes something from time to time.
All, quote, wonder how he survives, his health condition is satisfactory” — said Denisov. “My question is, can I publish the photo, I was told, when asked for permission to take a photo, Oleg understands that people are worried about him,” added the Ombudsman.
As UNIAN reported earlier, employees of FSB have detained Sentsov in Crimea in spring 2014. He was transported to Russia, where he was tried on trumped-up charges of organizing terrorist attacks and arson of party offices on the Peninsula.
A Russian court in August 2015 sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment. Sentsov is in prison in the city of Labytnangi on Yamal. On 14 may he went on a hunger strike to demand the release of all Ukrainian political prisoners. July 13, it became known that the Director’s mother Ludmila Sentsova wrote a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin asking him to pardon her son.
