The payment will be held as part of the settlement for diesel scandal. The court decided that the settlement “is not the result of fraud or trickery or collusion between the parties.”
The court of appeals in the US upheld an agreement to pay $10 billion by Volkswagen car owners in the framework of the “diesel scandal”, according to Kommersant.
The court stated that its task was to ensure that the settlement “is not the result of fraud or trickery or collusion between the parties” and that the agreement is fair “and is suitable for all stakeholders”.
“We note that the settlement has brought tangible and substantial benefits to members of the class action… We affirm the decree of the fertilizer regulation,” – said in court.
In Germany, Volkswagen was fined a billion euros.
