The lock-out at the UQTR is lifted, has confirmed the minister of higher Education Hélène David. It had raised the possibility of adopting a special law or if the president had not lifted the lockout earlier Wednesday.

Students and teachers will be able to return to the classroom as soon as tomorrow.

During a press conference, the rector of the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) and Daniel McMahon, has said they want to give another chance to the negotiation.

Earlier in the day Wednesday, the Parti québécois and Québec solidaire had called for the departure of the rector of UQTR, in order to promote the resumption of negotiations and to provide an exit from the crisis to a lock-out that had been going on.

“We ask the minister to ensure that the president is no longer there,” said the chef Jean-François Lisée in the media scrum.

To Mr. Lisée, the rector would have had to resign as soon as the minister Hélène David took away his confidence.

On the side of the Coalition avenir Québec, did not require the departure of the rector.
