OTTAWA – The prime minister Justin Trudeau announced on Sunday that the by-election in the riding of Chicoutimi-Le Fjord will take place on 18 June.
This poll, which is complementary aims to replace the former liberal mp Denis Lemieux, who resigned last November for personal reasons.
Lina Boivin, a woman of affairs in the region, will represent the liberal Party of Canada.
The conservative Party has chosen its candidate. This is Richard Martel, the former coach of the Saguenéens of Chicoutimi, of the League of the Quebec major junior hockey (QMJHL).
The New democratic Party, the trade union activist Eric Dubois filed his completed application form. It is currently the only one in the race.
