THREE-RIVERS — in The world of visual arts is in mourning. The sculptor he Pierre Landry died in the beginning of the week.
This artist passed away after 50 years of active life in the arts community of Three Rivers. He has also taught sculpture for thirty years at the University of Quebec in Trois-Rivières (UQTR).
He has also worked in the development of the visual arts department of the university. He has also served on the boards of directors of various cultural organizations, including the Biennale nationale de sculpture contemporaine in Trois-Rivières.
Many of his works are found in public places, including the sculpture ” The couple (space is home to the UQTR), Signature (facade of the hotel de ville) and Three Cities (inside the hotel-de-ville).
He had been chosen as guest of honour at the next Biennale nationale de sculpture contemporaine, which will take place next summer. A retrospective exhibition dedicated to him will be presented in the fall of 2018 at the art Gallery of the park, at the Centre d’exposition Raymond-Lasnier, and the Galerie r3 of the UQTR.
