THREE-RIVERS — Without great surprise, Marie-Ève Gélinas has confirmed its status of best archère in Quebec in its class, the end of last week at the provincial Championships indoor target concentric multi-site.
In his last year in cadets, the protégé of the club Archer Three-Rivers has concluded the competition with 797 points, putting the hand on the trophy Sylvio-Beauregard. Not far behind, another daughter of Three-Rivers, Rose Thibault, finished in second place, always in the class recurve bow.
In the category compound bow, Camille Corriveau (benjamins), has won the gold medal, ahead of his nearest rival. At the minimal, compound bow, Zechariah Marcil has finished second and Elliot Blanchette third. Luc Blanchette (men, arc to pulley) is mounted on the third step of the podium.
It should also be noted the good performance of Daynius Roy, champion quebec in the cadet, recurve bow, by virtue of his 786 points collected in the competition of Trois-Rivières. He finished as the second-highest of the winter season.
Gélinas and Roy, who were 17 years of age, have had the chance to participate in a training session in the company of Joan McDonald, coach of the canadian federation.
If they know a good season this summer, the two could take part in a pan american competition major, in the month of August in Colombia.
