THREE-RIVERS — Best scorer of the Booms of Trois-Rivières midget AAA over the past year, Mavrik Bourque should not wait too long before hearing his name echo in the confines of the Centre Gervais Auto Shawinigan, on June 2, when the next draft of the League of the Quebec major junior hockey.
On the final list of the Centre to support the recruitment of the QMJHL, published Monday, the attacker originally from Plessisville, is listed in fifth place which was dominated by Hendrix Lapierre, an attacker of the Intrepid Gatineau. This season, the maverick Booms has scored 70 points in 57 games, including 30 goals, tops on his team which reached the final of the Coupe Jimmy Ferrari.
Behind Bourque, it is on the side of the Booms of the Mauricie midget hope that we find the second highest ranked player in the region, while the defender Loris Rafanomezantsoa is currently listed in third round. His teammates Tomy St-Amand (5th round), and Daryck Plouffe-Dubé (rounds 6 to 8) have also found refuge in the first eight rounds of the final list.
In Booms midget AAA, Miguel Tourigny (5th round), as well as Félix Landry, Tommy Luneau, Alexander Parent, and Jacob Rabouin, in rounds 6 to 8, have also earned a place in this ranking.
As for the goalkeeper Antoine Lyonnais, winner of the trophy-Martin Brodeur awarded to the goalie who maintained the best average of goals allowed in the circuit midget AAA, the CSR provides that he will be drafted between rounds 9 to 14.
