It is somewhat ironic that this gathering will take place at Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel. While there were rumours that the Hells Angels wanted to establish their new premises in the neighbouring municipality of Trois-Rivières, the municipal council of the place had adopted a resolution to prevent this from happening. The elected officials had changed the zoning of some areas to prevent the places of meeting.

“We would have preferred that it be held elsewhere”, admits the mayor of the town, Luc Dostaler. “We don’t want our municipality to be associated with groups of motorcycle gangs.”

The mayor of Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel, however, was delighted with the large police presence. This sends a good message to the population, he says.
