SHAWINIGAN — In collaboration with the business Community of Shawinigan, the Foundation of the former Shawinigan launched the nomination period for the Awards entrepreneurship 2018.

With the help of the National Bank of Canada, CGI and the Company Laurentide, the Former Shawinigan grant this year, three scholarships, and one $ 10,000 and two of 5000 dollars in order to support new entrepreneurs in the first five years following their start-up. The aid granted to finance further growth and improve performance in business. The scholarships will be awarded at the gala on 13 October.

The new entrepreneurs in activities on the territory of Shawinigan must have started their business on September 1, 2013 or after this date. To know the other eligibility criteria and submit an application, entrepreneurs must consult the website www.lesanciensdeshawinigan.ca.

This year, the alumni Association of Shawinigan to celebrate its 75th anniversary. His mission and that of his Foundation to help the students of 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycle university to finance their studies. For the past few years, it has added to its mission the education to entrepreneurship and support new entrepreneurs.

To this day, the Foundation and Association have allowed hundreds of students from Shawinigan to pursue their studies in canadian universities and international. These professionals become are ambassadors of the City of Shawinigan and working in various areas.

Since 2009, its involvement within the business Community of Shawinigan contributes to the economic growth of the City through the support of young companies.

The candidates eligible for the scholarship entrepreneurial are expected by September 1, 2018. The Foundation will also provide scholarships of $ 1500 for university students of second cycle and $ 3000 for students in the third cycle. In this case, the eligible applications are expected by 1 November 2018.

Finally, the Association provides loans of honour to the students of the 1st cycle university. Nominations must be submitted no later than November 5, 2018.
