THREE-RIVERS — Through the Fund for economic diversification of Centre-du-Québec and the Mauricie, the government of Quebec has awarded the sum of $ 250,000 to the company Filterfab to support the implementation of a project estimated at over one million dollars. It is in front of the leadership and its many employees as the member for Trois-Rivières, Jean-Denis Girard made the announcement Friday.
The project 1 052 353 $ has three components, including the acquisition of equipment that will allow to manufacture new products and to modify some existing equipment, the development of innovative products and carrying out activities to commercialize all of its products on the international market.
For nearly 25 years, the company mainly produces filters and industrial products for the filtration of liquids, that it exports to Africa, India, France, Australia or the United States. The company also offers filters specifically for the aluminium smelters, including the ABI in Bécancour.
“This project fits in the objectives of the economic diversification of the region, which aim to stimulate entrepreneurship through business development-generating projects solid business and future-oriented. Thanks to this investment, Filterfab will be able to continue its growth and to continue to build on the high quality of its products and its outstanding service to stand out from the competition,” says Jean-Denis Girard. “This year, ridership on the job fair has been declining. This is good news, but it is a challenge for businesses to find the workforce. Therefore, we must innovate to cope with this shortage,” adds the mp.
To the director-general of FilterFab, Carole Barrel, this means a giant step forward for the company. “The special contribution of the government of Quebec in this diversification of funds not only allowed us to consolidate our jobs, but we created a twenty.”
Stéphane Billette, minister delegate for Small and Medium-sized Businesses with regulatory Relief and regional economic Development says that the success of the Fonds de diversification économique du Centre-du-Québec and Mauricie based in large part on the dynamism of companies which engage in projects to stimulate and diversify the regional economy. He said that the government will always be present to support such initiatives that generate wealth and jobs for the regions.
