SAINT-TITE — A living room of the book youth set on foot by the pupils of the primary school, The Providence Saint-Tite will take place on 3 and 4 may next.
For a second year in a row, children attending this school have put their shoulders to the wheel in order to concoct the programming of the event which will be attended by nearly 1000 students of primary schools and the first cycle of the secondary Mékinac. In the framework of this cultural gathering, the youth may attend a meeting with an author targeted according to their age group. The authors Nadine Poirier, Priska Poirier, Emilie Lussier, Dominique De Loppinot and the artists François St-Martin and Marc Bruneau has accepted the invitation of the youth organizers.
After the success of last year, the teacher in charge of the project, Sophie-Renée Vaugeois, did not hesitate to embark again in the adventure.
“It is motivating to see the young people deploy so much effort to put in place an event dedicated to the reading”, she said.
Moreover, this initiative has the support of several stakeholders and organizations of Mékinac, in particular the MRC.
“Young people are simply inspiring, it is an entrepreneurial project that stands out and that shows the strength of our notes”, mentions the director of the department of economic development of the MRC, Nadia Moreau.
Interestingly, the show will open to the public between 15: 30 and 19 h on 3 may. The authors will also be present to participate in an autograph session.
