MATANE — members of Matane-Matapédia, quebec and Rimouski, Pascal Bérubé, and Harold LeBel, have filed their nomination form for the nomination of the Parti québécois.
“The willingness to work for our people and the continuity of my commitment,” that is what the member Bérubé wish for a fifth term. The assembly investiture in Matane-Matapédia will be held on may 22nd at Mont-Joli. On the side of the other parties, his opponents are not yet known.
Harold LeBel considers him also to be ready to continue for a second term. “I developed a nice complicity with the people here, the municipalities and the promoters of projects”, considers the deputy coming out of Rimouski. The assembly investiture in Rimouski will take place on 29 April.
For the moment, we know that Mr. LeBel will face a candidate for Québec solidaire (QS). Sylvain Lirette and Carol-Ann Kack are vying for the nomination race.
The liberal Party, no date of meeting investiture has not been announced, neither of the candidates. The member of parliament for Rivière-du-Loup-Témiscouata, Jean D’amour, ensures, however, that his party will present a candidate in Rimouski.
According to our sources, the Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ) would have approached a few people for Rimouski, but without success. In the last elections in 2014, the candidate Steven Fleurent had placed the party in the lurch, while he had published photos of him naked, sitting on a toilet bowl.
In Gaspé, the former member of the parti québecois became independent, Gaétan Lelièvre, has not yet taken a decision on his political future. “I said that I would do two terms, I have two facts,” he stressed. I want to continue to work on the development of the region. But, is this going to be in politics? I don’t know.”
