For a third consecutive edition, he will participate in the 1000 km. This year, Mr. Angers has chosen to sponsor the primary school Saint-Joseph.
By agreeing to sponsor a school, the mayor of Shawinigan became the ambassador of a healthy lifestyle. To do this, he will make sure to create links with young people and participate in activities organized by the school. “Cycling is a passion for me and it is really with great pleasure that I talk to the children. It allows me to talk to them about the importance of being active and develop healthy habits of life, even as an adult. Our policy framework for physical activity and healthy lifestyle habits to promote, but it must also show the example. I hope that young people in Shawinigan become active and healthy citizens. In addition, the school of Saint-Joseph, this is my old primary school so I’m even more feverish”, he said. In order to be ready for this challenge, Mr. Angers trains daily, including la Mauricie national park. So far this year, he has traveled almost 3000 miles on your bike. It expects to reach the milestone of 5,000 kilometers.
