wôlinak — The Council of the Abénakis de Wôlinak has officially inaugurated the expansion of the Gym form fitness. Now there is a heated indoor pool and a swim spa.
The expansion of the Gym form fitness cost 434 000 $, and they started in August 2017. “In any community, it is important to provide places for recreational enjoyable to promote sport and recreation to promote healthy lifestyle habits,” stresses Geoffrey Kelley, minister responsible for aboriginal Affairs.
“We are proud to offer such a sports equipment to members of our community, that this kind of setup is rare in our region. The new indoor swimming pool and swim spa fit perfectly into our goal of developing healthy lifestyle habits within the community. These new facilities will also offer an opportunity to all the athletes and families of the surrounding towns and cities gather to do physical activity,” says Dave Bernard, director-general of the Council of the Abenakis of Wôlinak.
Note that this infrastructure has seen the light of day thanks to three grants. The minister of aboriginal Affairs has awarded 217 030 $ the Council of the Abenakis of Wôlinak. In addition to this amount, Canada economic Development has also provided an aid of $ 175,000, and the Council of the Abenaki Wôlinak complete the financial package by contributing to 42 030 $.
